The flight of the Miss Veedol from Japan to a hillside runway above Wenatchee and East Wenatchee is one of the many very cool historical moments North Central Washington can be proud of. This replica of the historic plane is suspended from the ceiling of the Wenatchee Valley Mall.
The field above East Wenatchee was the site of a historic event a long time ago. The first transatlantic flight left from Japan and landed in East Wenatchee long ago. The plane’s name was the Miss Veedol and this small monument near the entrance to the city pays tribute to this significant accomplishment.
