The railroad and highway cross the mouth of the Methow River at Pateros, Washington.
This cool roadside historical marker is actually located in a great park in the community of Pateros right alongside the Columbia River. North Central Washington is home to all sorts of awesome roadside historical attractions.
Here is an interesting video showing a kayaker spill out of their kayak and take on the Black Canyon stretch of rapids on the Methow River without a boat. Looks pretty cold and rough!
