The Chelan River has an entire run of about two miles. It flows out of the eastern end of Lake Chelan, through part of the town of Chelan, through the Chelan Dam, and when the gates of that dam are open it flows down the steep hillside to the Columbia River below. Twitter This!

One of the lesser seen dams in North Central Washington is the Chelan Dam that crosses the Chelan River shortly after it leaves Lake Chelan. The spillways to this dam are rarely opened as most of the water is pumped underground to the powerhouse down below. Twitter This!
