Banks Lake was formed by the building of Dry Falls Dam in the south and then pumping water up the hill from Grand Coulee Dam and filling up the northern section of Moses Coulee. Banks Lake is formed with water that is pumped up the hillside from Grand Coulee Dam to fill the northern part of the Grand Coulee.
