Here are some pictures from the fire that started this morning at the Davis Furniture warehouse in downtown Wenatchee. Luckily there was no loss of life but what a terrible time of year for this to happen. Along with the loss of property, let’s think about the loss of jobs and the families affected by this. There are other small businesses in the area, and they and their families will also be affected negatively. Hopefully the Christmas spirit will take care of these individuals.

Thursday afternoon a sudden storm hit the North Central Washington area. Snow fell from the sky and turned to mostly slush on the roads. Highway 28 from Wenatchee to Quincy was closed after a reported 9 car pile up and I-90 between Cle Elum and Ellensburg was briefly closed as well.

Thanks to the hard work and expense of one person, the former slogan of the city of Wenatchee was returned to the entrance of town this morning. The changing from “Apple Capital Of The World” to “Meeting Rivers – Meeting Friends – Meeting Needs” has been relatively controversial with call in guests on radio shows and letters to the “Safety Valve” of the Wenatchee World expressing their opinions.
