The Little Wenatchee River starts high in the Cascade Mountains and flows generally in the eastern direction until it flows into the west end of Lake Wenatchee, very near to where the White River also enters the lake. This little river is very scenic and there are some great campgrounds and scenic drives found right along its shores.

This interesting backyard teepee overlooks the little town of Manson, Washington. Manson is located just west of Chelan on the shores of Lake Chelan. One of the main attractions in the community is the Mill Bay Casino which features gambling and live entertainment. It really is a beautiful little town and also somewhat popular with vacationers.

Coles Corner is the name of a small community on US Highway 2 right where it meets Highway 207 which leads to Lake Wenatchee State Park. One of the more popular businesses there is the 59er Diner, a 1950′s themed restaurant, and behind it nestled in the trees are a series of cabins that they rent out nightly.

Located on the west end of Lake Wenatchee, the White River flows out of the Cascades and into this lake that then gives birth to the Wenatchee River. This bridge crosses the White River and provides access to some of the upper reaches of this part of the region. There are several forest service roads and campgrounds beyond this bridge and the area there also makes for a great scenic drive.

The Chelan County Fire Department tackles all kinds of fires and one of the special tools they have at their disposal is this helicopter. Here it is pictured at the Sunnyslope fire station on the north side of Wenatchee.

Wanapum Dam is located south of Vantage and the Vantage Bridge in the lower reaches of North Central Washington. Here is a look at this impressive structure that provides a good amount of hydroelectric power to the region.

Withrow is a tiny community located between Waterville and Mansfield. There is some very interesting terrain in this part of the region that includes both flat agricultural land and interesting rock formations. Here is a small red schoolhouse located in Withrow.

Mansfield sits up on a plateau just west of Grand Coulee Dam. It is surrounded by agricultural land and has serious ties to the local farming community. Here is a look at the large water tower that, well… towers over the town.

Ardenvoir is a cute little community in the Entiat River Valley. Here is a strange room set back into the ground just outside of town. There is a lot of great camping in the mountains up above Ardenvoir and it is a great place to stop for coffee or a snack.

The Chiwawa River flows down through the mountains and into the Wenatchee River near the community of Plain. It has a number of trails and campgrounds located along its shores and the drive up the road there is a pure joy.
