The Chelan Dam keeps the water in Lake Chelan a little bit higher and funnels it down the hillside to the powerhouse down below. For most of the year this leaves the Chelan River Gorge dry. Twitter This!

Many local residents who never venture out on the Puget Sound ferries that are run as part of the Washington State Department of Transportation have no idea that one of the ferries carries the name of “Wenatchee”.
