Many local residents who never venture out on the Puget Sound ferries that are run as part of the Washington State Department of Transportation have no idea that one of the ferries carries the name of “Wenatchee”.

The Wenatchee is powered by four Diesel-Electric engines and can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots. It is just over 460 feet long and can carry 2,500 people and just over 200 vehicles. There is elevator access to all levels, so that anyone driving onto the ferry can go up to the passenger area up above. For those interested, the ferry does have wifi internet access available.
