It finally happened, it was a late winter but the North Cascades Pass opened after a long winter closure this morning. The North Cascades Pass closes every year over the winter and its opening in the spring is looked forward to by locals, travelers of the Cascade Scenic Loop, and outdoor recreation enthusiasts. As you can see from the picture below there is still “some” snow in the area.

For any of you that have never driven across the North Cascades Pass, it is a real treat. You will be taken to views you will not believe. A true treasure right in our own backyard.
