Kittitas County, like many counties around the country, is battling a jail overcrowding situation. They’re hiring more officers which will increase arrests and they are already over the limit on how many inmates they can hold. They have contracted with Chelan County as well as the city of Sunnyside to take excess prisoners if they meet certain conditions.
