Later this week a continuation of the massive rock stabilization project will force highway 28 to be closed in between Wenatchee and Quincy. The closure means that anyone who would normally be traveling that way will either have to go farther west over Blewett Pass or will have to go farther east and detour through Waterville. This can add up to an hour and a half to a commute so if you are traveling that way you may want to plan accordingly.

The above picture (courtesy of the Washington State Department of Transportation) show the working conditions on the hillside high above Highway 28 with Rock Island Dam in the background. The project hopes to reduce the amount of rocks that fall onto highway 28 down below.
