With the closure of Snoqualmie Pass due to high avalanche concerns, Stevens Pass was hit with a higher level of traffic, including many more semi trucks than they are usually ready to handle. With the adverse weather also hitting Stevens Pass it made for some tough travel conditions over the past few days.

Semi Trucks Backed Up At Easton On I-90 Waiting For Snoqualmie Pass To OpenWith the heavy load of semi trucks coupled with people not paying attention to chain up area warnings, it caused many trucks to have to come to a complete stop on uphill section of roads. This made it next to impossible for some trucks to get going again and they had to rely on tow trucks at the scene as well as the Washington State D.O.T. to get them to the top of the pass.
