With the recent blankets of snow we’ve gotten here in North Central Washington, it is a great time to hit the hillsides with the youngsters and their sleds. Whether you head for the mountains or just a local park, there is much fun to be had this time of year.

There are tons of locations in the area that are great for outdoor recreation in the winter. You can head for Stevens or Blewett Passes, the Loup Loup area, Leavenworth, and more. Be sure to dress warm and remember to layer your clothes. Bring blankets, a first aid kit, and be prepared for the worst. And, by all means, drive carefully. Most accidents are caused by either distracted drivers or drivers who are driving too fast for the conditions.
