Alaska radio and television pioneer Augie Hiebert passed away last Thursday at the age of 90. Hiebert brought the first television stations to the state of Alaska in the 1950′s. Hiebert was born in Trinidad, Washington (between Wenatchee and Quincy) and held his first broadcast position working on the radio in Wenatchee. Twitter This!

Local dentists Jay Roeter of Wenatchee and Paul Phillips of Omak are participating in the Washington Dental Foundation’s SmileMobile program. The SmileMobile is a traveling dental office that makes dental care available for children for a low, sometimes very low, fee.
