We’ve recently updated our Mountain Passes & Canyons Gallery with a small gallery of photos taken in the Icicle Canyon.
For those who have not visited, the gorgeous Icicle Canyon is an easily accessible area just south of Leavenworth with tons of camping, hiking, and photo opportunities.
Susie Fenton, of Chelan Washington, caught a 285.4 pound Halibut during the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby making her the current leader in the women’s division of that contest. The contest runs the entire month of August and takes place in Alaska.
Secretary of State Sam Reed’s office released voter turnout information regarding the state primary. Among the interesting findings is that Chelan County received approximately 50% voter turnout while neighboring Douglas County was right around 25%.
Wenatchee Valley College Student David Alvarez earned not only praise for his talent, but a mention on World News organization CNN (Cable News Network) when he made a ten foot tall mosaic of Ray Charles out of Post-It notes.
