It appears that there is a massive erosion problem involving some of the shoreline of Banks Lake. Coulee Playland, in particular, reports up to 25 feet of shoreline has been eroded since 1985. They are looking for older photos of Banks Lake to compare the shoreline and deal with the erosion problem.

At approximately 3:30pm reports of a fire in the Colockum Road area were heard and a large number of fire trucks and support personnel headed in that direction. The area is south of both Malaga and the Alcoa aluminum smelter. No other details are known at this moment.

Chelan County announced today it passed a milestone in the rollout of its fiber optic program. The County says that fiber optics are now connected to 20,000 homes, businesses, hospitals, and schools.

The Sunnyslope Fire continued to burn on Sunday having spread across the hillside from west to east overnight. Some fire damage to a few homes, but no houses lost.
The fire is getting statewide coverage with KIRO7 and KING5 satellite trucks being seen in the area at different times.

Fireworks were launched as usual from Walla Walla park in Wenatchee to celebrate the 4th of July.
