Cashmere-Dryden Airport Photo – Site of Fatal Crash

I had a few emails from people wishing to see pictures of the Cashmere-Dryden Airport after hearing about the fatal crash involving the former CEO of Alaska Airlines.

Here are some photos of the much discussed Cashmere-Dryden Airport that was the site of the recent plane crash that took the life of former Alaska Airlines CEO. The runway at Cashmere-Dryden is actually the shortest runway of any airport in Washington State. The small airport is also surrounded by residential area on the sides and the High School on the east end. However, none of these features have been labeled as a reason for the crash.

What to do, if anything, with the airport is the next question. It has been reported that Cashmere-Dryden Airport services roughly two thousand flights a year, which breaks down to a little less than six per day. The runway appears to have room to be lengthened on the west end, but that would be a hefty expense to be considered.
