Soldier From Chelan Throws Out First Pitch At San Diego Padres Game

Marine Lance Corporal Josh McAlvey, a native of Chelan, was selected to throw out the first pitch of the San Diego Padres game against the Florida Marlins on Monday, July 9th. The game was a tribute to the U.S. Military men and women and was unique in that the Padres wore camoflauge uniforms. Other special things happened during the game as well including a group text message from the fans to the men and women of the armed forces. McAlvey was selected for the honor after being entered into a contest by his wife.
