Gregg Herrington of The Columbian had an excellent column (found here) regarding a Google project about the 7 wonders of each state in the United States. Basically, it’s 7 must-see features in each State. Well, he raises a good point that the people who came up with the list didn’t show a lot of love for Eastern Washington. The only east side location to make the big 7 for Washington was our very own Lake Chelan.
Check out the Google 7 Wonders of Washington State here. And, if you click “Home” at the bottom of that page you can go back and view the 7 Wonders of the other States.
I put together what would be my own little 7 Wonders of Washington State:
(in no particular order)
-Lake Chelan
-Grand Coulee Dam
-Mount Rainier
-San Juan Islands
-North Cascades Pass
-Dry Falls
-Columbia River Gorge
-Mount St. Helens
Hmm, that’s 8… well, it’s my list and I’m not taking one off. ![]()
